Protocopier allows rapid duplication of real world 3D objects using state-of-the art scanning and printing technology

What is Protocopier

Protocopier is a research project within the High Performance Embedded and Distributed Systems Group at Imperial College London. The system was Developed by PhD students with support from Dyson Limited, and the Dyson School of Design Engineering.

one integrated system

Our Protocopier system combines scanning and 3D modelling into one complete system. Simply point the camera, start the system, and receive a 3D model, ready for printing.

Using KinectFusion technology developed at Imperial College London, our kinect camera can produce a detailed scan of the surface of real world objects.

Our software package takes this 3D scan and produces an accurate 3D model, ready for printing on the device of your choice.
